Steve AtochaOwner
Steve is the owner of Middlebury Mountaineer and founder of Green Mountain Adventures. Steve is a father, an EMT, volunteer fire fighter, and a certified American Canoe Association Kayaking Instructor. He spends his free time hiking for fishing holes or backcountry skiing off of the Lincoln Gap.

Marion AtochaOwner
Marion is the co-owner and clothing buyer for Middlebury Mountaineer. She divides her time between the shop and working part time as a nurse in Bristol. An avid hiker, swimmer and nordic skier, Marion’s real passion is raising her three boys and working on her family farm.

Jesse HallerManager/Lead Fly Fishing Guide
Jesse is from Wisconsin and attended school in Durango, CO, later residing in Breckenridge. In 2003 he completed a thru-hike of the the Colorado Trail. In his decade in Colorado, he climbed more than forty of the surrounding 14,000ft mountains and worked as a fly fishing guide on several Colorado rivers. Jesse moved to Vermont in 2009 to be the Manager of Middlebury Mountaineer and Lead Fly Fishing Guide for Green Mountain Adventures. He is the current President of the New Haven River Anglers Association, the local non-profit watershed conservation group. Jesse founded the Otter Creek Classic Opening Day Fly Fishing Tournament, the largest trout fly fishing tournament in Vermont and is a 2-time OCC Professional Division Champion. He has contributed and been featured in Eastern Fly Fishing and VT Great Outdoors publications, Outdoor Journal Television, and other local media. He authored a chapter in "50 Greatest Places to Fly Fish in the Northeast". In 2013 Jesse was honored as a Professional Guide Ambassador for Simms Fishing Products. In 2014 he was selected as one of 24 members of the inaugural year of the Pro Fly Angling Tour. He has also competed in the United States Fly Fishing Team Regional Qualifiers. Aside from Trout, Jesse has a passion for fishing Northern Pike, Bass and other warmwater species on the fly.

Chrisandra SylvestriShop Employee/Guide
Over a dozen years ago, after the birth of her fourth child Chris started kayaking. She would throw her boat on the car, head down to the Otter Creek or the flooded flats, and be back in less than two hours a rejuvenated person. She's been hooked ever since. Ratty in the Wind in the Willows summed it up best-"There is nothing worth doing half as much as simply messing around in boats."

Dave KonopkeFly Fishing Guide
I grew up in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, fishing at an early age. Boating came later in life, primarily canoeing. I've paddled about 2000 miles in the Quebec wilderness with Keewaydin Camps based out of Salisbury Vermont. Recently, I've been boating and fly fishing in the summer months for pike and bass on the Otter Creek.

Asa SargentFly Fishing Guide
Asa grew up in Ripton, Vermont where he spent his childhood hiking small streams and beaver ponds in search for brookies. Now the majority of his time is devoted to the Midd or the Otter, chasing browns and pike. After college he left for Alaska, where he is currently a driftboat guide on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers May through September.

Devin SchrockKids Camp Instructor
Devin is a graduate of University of Delaware and has a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Devin teaches 6th-8th grade english language arts and 6th grade science at Orwell Village School. Before moving to Vermont this past summer, she ran her own nature camp for children ages 4-9 and previously spent two years as the director of an outdoor education center in the Adirondacks of New York. She loves to road bike and kayak and especially enjoys spotting porcupines on hikes.

Joanna is a proud recent Riptonite and hails from the coast of southern NH. During the academic year, she works at the local elementary school. She is a lifeguard and has been involved with outdoor/adventure education for almost a decade.

Wesley ButlerGuide
Wesley grew up hunting and fishing in New Haven, VT. He attended Paul Smiths College in the Adirondacks where he earned a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science as well as an appreciation for small mouth bass and big brook trout. He has fished from Maine to Oregon to Alaska and always looks forward to coming home and fishing Vermont, especially Otter Creek. Wesley has a one track mind and his free time is spent fishing, collecting local tying materials from waterfowl, or tying flies. Wesley recently became a member of the esteemed Vermont Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement serving as Game Warden.

Levi DoriaFly Fishing Guide
Levi has been a longtime member of the Green Mountain Adventures crew. After graduating from Middlebury College, he headed west to Jackson Hole Wyoming to pursue a fly fishing career and completed the Western Rivers Guide School. He guided for Worldcast Anglers on the fabled South Fork and Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. Now, back in Vermont, his fishing has come full circle, allowing him to reconnect with his home waters. Levi has extensive experience guiding both wade angling and fishing from a drift boat.
